In preclinical trials the safety of the drug is checked on the animal. The various tests are done to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the drug in animals. The animals are handled with care and are provided with proper nutrition and shelter. Regular visiting of veterinary doctors for the health check-up of animals is done. Permission is taken from the Animal Ethics Committee for the purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals.
